About Me
Hi, my name’s Evanna and I believe in the power of writing things down.
I’m an Irish actress and writer, currently living in London. You may know me from my role in Harry Potter, or from my vegan podcasting days, or something even more niche. Penfriendship is my weekly blog where I answer your letters, and write journal entries about my creative projects, hobbies and interests.
About Penfriendship
I joined Substack as a way to connect with my followers and to fill the long silences that drag on between creating something and sharing it with the world. I am also a slow-moving beast who prefers the long-form method of communication that a letter allows. This love of letter writing harkens back to my childhood when I joined an international pen-friend club that connected me with other curious, quiet souls around the world. To me, there is no connection so revealing, meandering and enjoyable as writing letters back and forth, so here I am proposing we strike up a penfriendship of sorts!
Expect a weekly post every second Friday. If you’d like to submit a letter/question to be answered, please do the following:
Comment on the weekly post.
Write me a DM here on Substack. (Please state in the message whether or not you’d like the question/letter shared anonymously)
Please note that my assistant, Lucy, and I aim to read all the messages but cannot respond to them all. I will reply on the blog to one ‘letter’ per week. Requests for autographs, videos, donations, petition signatures etc will be ignored (sorry) as this is my online space for writing blogs only. I appreciate your understanding ♥️
As for what to write to me about, I’m happy to share my thoughts about anything related to acting, writing, books, my book, mental health, veganism, cats, my cats, animals, just any kind of animal really… My other great passions are crafts and aerial hoop, and I am happy to rhapsodise about either! I wonder will this blog eventually morph into a craft tutorial blog; I wonder might that serve everyone better.
On bad days, when I threaten to pack this all in and start an Etsy shop selling tiny, knitted jumpers for dolls, just tell me that that’s fine too.
